Gothenburg, Sweden — since 2008

A hive of seasoned engineers.

North Collective is a network of senior engineers and technical leaders working as independent consultants. We deliver feature development, integrations and system optimisation for companies that need experienced hands — we also build and back ventures of our own from time to time.

The collective

Not an agency. Not a fund. A collective.

Each of our consultants runs an independent practice; the collective is how we find each other, share what we know and take on work that needs more than one pair of hands.

We have built companies, formed products, led engineering through hypergrowth, and shipped platforms that still run years later. That experience is the product — there are no juniors, no account managers, no sales personel.

We work with leadership teams who need the judgement of someone who has been in the seat before, and the hands to actually do the work.

Practice

Four ways we work with a company.

Engagements are short on ceremony and long on ownership. One or three of us, embedded, with a clear brief and a clear end.

  • 01

    Build

Hands-on senior engineering and product work: platforms, integrations, data pipelines, the difficult middle of a roadmap. Built to be maintained by the team that inherits it.

  • 02

    Lead

Interim and fractional technical leadership — CTO, CPO, head of engineering. We have held the seat, hired the team and carried the consequences, so we know what a wrong call costs.

  • 03

    Back

We invest time, and sometimes capital, in early ventures where our experience changes the odds — alongside venture partners who bring the rest of the funding.

  • 04

    Train

Our training evolves with the technology shifts. Right now, the urgent priority is AI, before that cloud and digital transformation. We provide training for leadership teams and staff, built around your challenges and use cases.

    AI training

AI training

AI training for companies, from the boardroom to the floor.

Two tracks with one idea: practical, in-house, and taught by people who build these systems for a living. One track for the leadership team, one for the people doing the work.

For the leadership team

AI for leadership

Three half-days · 1–6 people

A strategic programme for owners, CEOs and management teams: what AI changes in your business model, organisation and competitive position — and how to lead the shift without betting the company on hype.

The three half-days

  1. Half-day 1

    What AI changes

Where the technology actually is, what it does to your business model and competitive position, and which of your use cases are worth money.

  2. Half-day 2

    Leading the shift

Organisation, roles and skills, an AI policy people follow, and how to bring the board and the whole company along.

  3. Half-day 3

    AI in the whole workflow

Hands-on for the leadership team: analysis, decision support and multi-step processes on your own material. You leave with working workflows, not slides.

You leave with

  • A shared, realistic picture of what AI can and cannot do for your business
  • A prioritised map of use cases, each with cost, risk and payoff
  • An AI policy people will actually follow: data, security, compliance and vendor choices
  • A twelve-month AI roadmap with owners and milestones

For staff

AI at work

Three half-days · 4–12 people

Hands-on sessions that go from first use to working agents. Every level ends with something the participants use the next morning.

  1. Level 1

Getting started with AI at work

A practical, safe introduction to generative AI in real tasks. Understand the tools, use them well, and know what never goes into a prompt.

    Half-day

  2. Level 2

    AI as a colleague

Work with an AI assistant as an active resource: plan, analyse, draft and drive tasks from idea to result — on your own cases, in your own tools.

    Half-day

  3. Level 3

    Build your own AI agents

From prompts to workflows. Build simple agents that take repetitive work off your plate, no code required.

    Half-day

You leave with

  • Confident, safe daily use of AI in your own tasks and tools
  • A personal set of prompts and routines for your recurring work
  • At least one working agent built on a real task from your job
  • A clear line for what stays out of AI: data, customers, decisions

What happens after the course

Most companies leave with a list of things they want built. We are the same people who can build them.See how we build

Network

How the collective works.

  • Seniority only

Every member has at least ten years of shipping products and has founded, sold or led something that mattered.

  • Small by design

One or three people on an engagement. Never a bench, never a handover to someone you did not meet.

  • Operators first

We have sat on the founder side of the table. We plan like we are staying, because the code and the decisions outlive the engagement.

  • Independent, aligned

Each member runs their own practice under their own name. The collective is the trust layer — who we vouch for, and who we call.

Disciplines in the network

  • Software engineering & architecture
  • Product management & delivery
  • Data, integrations & platforms
  • Technical leadership
  • Applied AI & automation
  • Venture building & fundraising
